The first step to obtaining a new website is to prepare yourself for a commitment to your new marketing media tool. We do most fo the work, but it still takes a great deal of effort on your part to ensure the site is the best it can possibley be.
After you have made the commitment to give your site all its due effort, then you must start thinking about the design and structure of your site and its navigation. By this we mean to start figuring out what layout you want your site to use, what color scheme you will utilizing to present this layout, what items will be present on your site, how much content or graphics do you wish to display, the formation of your site's navigation.
First, lets talk about a few different styles of web design that are used.
VISUAL SITES Some site use more images on their home page then content as seen in the following screen shots. As you can see, there is more imagery than text, more visual stimulation than written information. This style of web design can have a dramatic impact for certain businesses
PORTAL SITES
The next few screen shot show a portal style of web design, which means that it is more content and information heavy than graphics or visuals. Though it can still be pleasing to eye with the right use of color and few images, it still posesses alot of content. This style can benefit a business that has a lot to say.
BRIGHTER SITES
There is also the use of light and dark for websites. The next three screen shots have a light and airy feel to them becasue they use lighter colors in an organized manor to disply the information. These site have an open and inviting feeling about them. They make the visitor feel at ease.
DARKER SITES
The next few use the darker side of the spectrum to display its features. Though these sites are darker colors, these darker colors can create a magnificent impact and produce some amazing effects for the user.
As you have seen, there are a few different ways to set your site up, and these are only the tip of the iceburg when it comes to webdesign. There are many, mnay tricks, tips, and ideas to use when creating your site, but that is what we are here for. You just need to decide on a few basics like heavy image or heavy portal, light or dark tone, etc.
